Just remembered .....
that I can finally add photos of the cards I made back in June.
The thistles are stumpwork and aren't really as blue as they've come out in this photo. Unfortunately, it's not a brilliant photo, as I took it quickly before handing it over to Norry. The recipient in Los Angeles loved it and it's still on display, despite her birthday being months ago!
This was the card I made for Tracy and Pauls wedding gift. The roses are 'bullion' roses done with ribbon braid so I didn't have to do all those bullions :) with silk ribbon daisies with seed pearl centres.

Having fun!
DB built me a new computer on Tuesday, which has all the latest bells and whistles and is so fast, it's finished doing what I want almost as soon as I've finished thinking about it! It's great, no more waiting for ages for things to load, we're finally seeing the full benefits of being on Broadband!
Last night he brought home the new monitor, which isn't, but feels like it's twice the size of the old one, so that's us, up and running instead of walking!
I'm SO proud of him!
One of the 'bells' is a card reader, so I can just insert the card from my camera and download my photos, yeah!!! :D Only problem is, I'll have to get one of those photoshop programme thingys, as at present I can't do anything with them once they're downloaded and they're way too big to use here. I'm a technopeasant, so has anyone got any recommendations for one that's truely foolproof?

Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alone at last! School started today! The boy wonder's gone out too, (supposed to be looking for a job, but doubt that's where he's gone) so I've been able to do whatever I like, listen to my music (as opposed to theirs at full blast) and generally veg out and relax.
We're buying a new computer, which will be faster than this one, so I've been going through what I want to keep. I came across this piece of work I did a while back. I've always intended to do a companion piece to it and just never got round to it.

Angry!!
Just a rant, as I can't get it off my chest anywhere else.
Garys' stepson has been at it again, filling the childrens heads with absolute c**p and then asking them who they believe, him or their Dad. He sounds so F*****g plausible to them, that Robert said last night that he didn't know who to believe.
I mean, what kind of idiot tells his half-brother and sisters that their father told their mother to "Hurry up and die"!! What kind of idiot even thinks that that might have happened? He wasn't there and so is making up stuff to try and set the children against Gary. Anyone who knows Gary would know he isn't capable of saying such a thing anyway and that he was devastated by his wifes' death.
I spoke to Robert this morning and more of the nonsense came out (only part of it came out last night) according to the idiot, he had his stepfather up against the wall when Gary 'was fighting with him' after the wedding, and Norman came out and told him that if he wanted to hit Gary, he'd have to hit him too! Nevermind idiot, he's deranged! Fortunately, because I was there, I could set Robert straight about what really happened!
It makes me so mad that they're still trying to set the children against their dad, just what do they hope to achieve? We stopped the children seeing them for this reason and carrying this nonsense on, is just making us more sure that it was the right decision!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!
On the stitching front, I now have all the threads for the peacock I want to do, so am undecided whether to start that or carry on with what I am doing! The cards seem doomed, as they have had coke and now coffee spilt on them, so need to be washed before I can carry on. I did rinse them as soon as it was spilt, but it didn't all come out. I think the threads are going to be 'over-dyed' from now on, which at least will be interesting!
I thought that last summer I was very unproductive because of the change of medication, but have come to the conclusion that it's school holidays that does it. Just as you get settled, one or other of them appears with 'Liza .....'! Only ONE more day to go and they're back to school!!
My tomatoes have finally started to take, I've seen loads and loads of flowers, but it's only now that we're beginning to find wee tomatoes. My spinach is being vastly appreciated by some creepy crawly, but I haven't managed to find it and don't like spraying insecticides, so can only watch it steadily disappear! Fortunately, the second tray never made it outside to the verandah, so we have got some. The lettuce never made it outside either, so we're enjoying that!
Got a bee in my bonnet last week and turned the lounge around. It meant a complete turnout, so got ruthless and jettisoned things, or found new homes for them. A vast improvement!
