And Three!

Saturday 11th at about 5pm I got a call from the hospital to say surgery was cancelled, cos the CICU was being refurbished and the builders weren't finished yet.

Monday 13th at 11am I got a phone call from the hospital "Can you come in right now please?"

Long story short. I did have the surgery on 14th Feb after all. I'm now back home, feeling a bit weak and wobbly but relatively painfree, well considering!

My eldest daughter came to see me on Sunday morning before returning to London and said "Oh good, you're 'cottoning' again, you must be feeling better!" Got quite a lot done too, the silver side is almost finished.

Take Two

I've been given the all clear, so Monday morning I have to present myself at the hospital. They'll redo the tests and if they are still clear, then I will have the surgery on Tuesday.

In the meantime, I've been working on a Celtic knotwork Yin and Yang. Our Handcraft Circle is having an exhibition in March and the theme is "Celtic". This design is actually a tattoo on my b-i-l's wrist! I enlarged it and 'tweaked' it to make it more friendly for goldwork. I had originally intended to use kid, but don't have big enough pieces for that, so reduced it a bit to make it more friendly for actual embroidery!! I drew up the finished design on freezer paper and then ironed that onto felt. I then did rows of chain stitch in DMC#5 Perle cotton to pad it up and give it the 'domed' shape. I'm now Satin stitching with Anchor Lame, one of the best metallic threads on the market. (No affiliation etc, just a happy customer!) I will outline with goldwork threads, just haven't decided which ones yet.
