Hibernation . . . . .

looks very attractive this winter! Yesterday was so cold, with a 'lazy' wind that must have come straight down off the Arctic and it's only October. Fortunately, I've lost two stone, so I can look out my cords and jeans and live in those again. Only problem is, I'm not sure where I put them!
The cold weather is very conducive to stitching though and the lily is coming on nicely. I've not done much with the flowers, because I finally managed to get something to try and remove the smoke damage from a fire we had two years ago. It's removed the black line from the front, but you can still see a faint grey stripe on one side of the back. I figure that's not going to be seen and any damage it might do in the future is my childrens problem, not mine!

New Toy!

DB bought me a new toy today, an all in one printer, scanner and copier. I'm not that worried about the printer and copier, I've lived without them for over four years now, but I've really missed my scanner since it died in the fire we had.

Here's my first experiment, the SA flowers UFO.

DB had a day off (hence the shopping expedition) as he had to go back to the orthopod. It was interesting looking at the x-ray and seeing the plate that's holding his arm together. You could even see the break, which is apparently healing up nicely on one side, but more slowly on the other. They must be happy though, he only has to go back in three months.

I've also being doing some crochet. I forgot my glasses last week when I went to the Monday embroidery group and as I had some wool I'd bought for something else, I borrowed a crochet hook and spend my time productively after all. I decided to carry it on and am now aiming for some sort of blanket, after all I AM getting old!

Life .....

has just got in the way over the last six weeks! There have been far more downs than ups, but hopefully that's all over now.
Embroiderers Guild and the Handcraft Circle have started up again, so I'm finally getting back into stitching again. The Blackwork lily is progressing slowly, I had to start it again, I managed to lose the skein of thread and fool that I am, I forgot to write down the number, so I can't just replace it and carry on. I'm also still not enamoured of counting, but have found it a lot easier when I'm here on my own totally undisturbed.
I've resurrected my stumpwork SA flowers UFO and have decided to finish it for the exhibition to be held in June next year. All the slips are ready, it's the background that has to be finished. I also want to do the 3-D piece I've had in mind for a while.
The Spanish list I belong to has organized a Secret Angel swop for Christmas, so I must also do something small for that. I have some pots I made out of fimo clay so will probably do something with them.

(I couldn't find any that didn't have holes in them, so decided to make my own) Moo
