Almost there!

I do love it when a plan comes together! The garden is now finished and I'm working on the background, which shouldn't take very long at all, as it's just a hedge and tree on the far side of a wheatfield. I got the idea from the book Hand Embroidered Country Scenes by Sue Newhouse, but I've lifted out what I want, rather than copying the whole project!

I've started on my next project. I want to adapt the bowl of strawberries idea to a plate of fruit. I'm doing a needlepoint orange, that I was going to put over a ball, but think it will be easier to stuff it, with a lead sinker inside to give it some weight! I'm still pondering on apples etc, as I've already worked out grapes, cherries and the 'soft' berries.

I have been so depressed lately, everything just seems to be an enormous problem, requiring a great deal of effort, so I haven't been able to do much ...... except embroider! For some strange reason creating seems to fill some kind of need I have when I'm feeling down. I have always found that if I'm 'het up' then sitting quietly embroidering does calm me, and doing Hardanger got me through a very serious bout of depression a few years ago!
The garden (the next layer seen through the arch) is almost finished and the last layer shouldn't take too long, as that's mainly sky as background.

More Happy Dancing

It worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.comI finally finished all those knots and with a fair bit of trepidation, dunked the water soluble plastic stuff in hot water. It duly dissolved and my wisteria flowers didn't fall apart! Once they were all attached, the next thing was to mount it. I cut out the space behind the arch and it all went just as I'd imagined! I'm now busy working on the garden that will go behind it.
